Tropical Planting, York Road N21
The client’s brief was to create a lush, tropical-style garden using bold, exotic planting.
The long, narrow site had poor-quality soil, so we introduced a zig-zag pathway in light grey porcelain paving, framed by raised beds built from timber sleepers.
Several tonnes of enriched topsoil were added to support the semi-mature trees and shrubs.
The planting scheme included strong architectural varieties such as Agapanthus africanus, Musa basjoo and Trachycarpus fortunei, alongside two large Magnolia grandiflora trees to create height, structure and year-round impact.
